A fourth-generation builder from Greenville, Michigan, CEO Adam Rought carries on a legacy of construction excellence. After years in construction management and insurance adjusting, Adam rediscovered his passion while building his own home in 2017. Realizing deck engineering was his favorite challenge, he launched Green Shield to revolutionize and improve the entire process.

Adam, his wife Arika, their three daughters and a dog, all live in the house his dad helped build. Green Shield is currently launching a new distribution center and wholesale business, bringing hundreds of jobs to the Greenville community he still calls home. In his spare time, Adam can often be found repurposing unused Green Shield materials around the pool he built for his family a few years ago. If you ask his five year goal, he’ll laugh and admit it’s to, “build the largest deck in the world” right in his own backyard.
