Wood-Filler Deck Boards

Most low quality composite deck boards on the market use a wood-filler in their core. Wood-filler is not good in deck boards because it easily absorbs moisture, attracts pests, grows fungi, and decomposes quickly. Typical wood-filler deck boards don’t last because they use low grade scrap materials. Most composite decks with a wood filler begin to show signs of failure in 1-5 years and often need to be completely replaced by 10 years.

The Green Shield Difference

Green Shield Deck Builders does not use wood-filler in our deck boards. In order to offer our lifetime warranty to homeowners our deck boards needed to be made with something better. Every Green Shield deck board is made with rice hull composite. Rice hull composite lets us take advantage of natural moisture resistance you just can’t get from wood-filler and wood thermal composites.

"Wood-filler deck boards just weren’t good enough for a Green Shield deck. Our deck boards upgrade you to the best moisture resistant and longest lasting composite boards on the market."
