“Kiln Dried After Treatment” (KDAT) is a key part of the rigorous process Green Shield utilizes to ensure wood frames achieve maximum stability. Every piece of Green Shield lumber is sustainably forested, inspected for quality, and treated in small batches for deep penetration.
Following treatment, the wood is placed in large kilns to extract excess moisture. While standard pressure-treated lumber is often sold "wet" and prone to warping, the Green Shield KDAT process results in a more stable, predictable material.
