“Wet” Wood

Most treated wood is considered “wet” wood and needs to wait several months before being stained and sealed. During this time the wood finishes drying out and often does so unevenly, resulting in deck waves and warps. Even after the deck is stained “wet” wood will continue to dry and shift causing further trip hazards and irregularities.

The Green Shield Difference

Green Shield does not use “wet” treated wood as part of your deck's main framing, because of the risks inherent with using it. Instead we use pre-stained KDAT decking materials to offer you the best results that will last a lifetime. See KDAT definition for more details.
