Green Shield provides homeowners with all-in-one pricing that includes design, permitting, inspections, construction, and warranty. Once you hire Green Shield Deck Builders there won’t be additional fees, surprise payments, or permitting costs. Our permits department is trained in Joint Permit Applications and has successfully completed both EGLE and USACE permitted projects.
Joint Permit Application (JPA)
The Joint Permit Application streamlines state and federal permitting in Michigan for construction projects near water including: wetlands, inland lakes, streams, and floodplains. Applicants can submit a single form to the Michigan Department of Environment, and Energy (EGLE) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). A JPA is required if your project is near water and involves moving materials or building structures. Individual permits can cost $500 - $4000 dollars. Most builders will require the homeowner to file and pay for JPAs.
