Look for long lasting materials that will be low maintenance and continue to provide safety for years to come.
Powder coated products in the United States are voluntarily rated by the Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). Typical deck railing products are rated at AAMA2603 (mild exterior use), AAMA2604 (high quality), and AAMA2605 (superior quality). AAMA2603 is the standard expectation for powder coating and works better indoors than outdoors. The best railing products for decks will meet AAMA2604 and AAMA2605 ratings.
