Description

Green Shield believes homeowners shouldn't have to choose between a dark, modern aesthetic and the comfort of their bare feet. In a side-by-side technical evaluation, Green Shield CEO Adam Rought uses a heat gun to measure surface temperatures across leading composite brands.

The Results:

  • Engineered for Comfort: Green Shield composite boards consistently maintain lower temperatures than comparable products from Trex or Barrette Outdoor Living.
  • Color Without Compromise: Green Shield proprietary technology allows even dark-colored boards to remain cooler than lighter-colored competitor products.
  • A Hardworking Backbone: While lighter shades are naturally cooler, Green Shield engineering bridges the gap, allowing for a premier, high-end look that stays functional in the height of summer.

Our team focuses on smarter engineering so your outdoor living space remains a sanctuary. This demonstration provides the straight talk homeowners need to understand how materials perform in the real world. With Green Shield, you get the style you want with the performance your family requires.

Hi. My name is Adam Rought. I'm the founder and CEO of Green Shield Deck Builders. Today, we wanna show you guys some of the differences between our amazing proprietary Green Shield deck boards, and that is our heat blocking technology. We're gonna show you with a heat gun today how we stack up after just a short time in the sun, but this will give you guys a great idea of how the Green Shield board stacks up against the competition. What we have today is our six colors, and then this board here, this is a small sample from Bear Outdoor Living, and then probably the leading competitor would be Trex, so we have a Trex board here. So we'll start with a a Trex board. As of right now, that's measuring ninety seven degrees, and now I'm gonna measure our board with a similar color, and it's measuring a ninety three point two, so quite a bit cooler than the comparable Trex We've got the darker Green Shield board and it's about ninety five point one. So a little bit warmer but still not as warm as the the lighter version of the Trex board. We'll take a look at this Barrett board here. Barrett board fared very well at ninety two. And then we'll take a look at one of the lighter Green Shield board. This one's coming in at ninety one point five. As most people could guess, the lighter color boards are typically always gonna be a little bit cooler on the foot. That doesn't mean to say you wouldn't wanna go with a darker color. It's really the aesthetics you're going for at the home. Hope you guys liked this video today. Let us know if you wanna see any other boards compared.
