Pool Coping is the lip that runs around the edge of a pool and can be made from a range of materials. On above ground pools coping is often a plastic molded piece that hangs over the edge. Coping on pools provides structural protection and helps manage water, provide safety, and improve aesthetics. Poorly installed pool decks around above ground pools can result in the coping bending or breaking as people step on it. If you plan to add a deck to an above ground pool, make sure your builder knows how to work around your pool’s coping and properly support it.
